Imagine a lovely spot surrounded by lots of trees. That’s where Corbett Falls is! The waterfall is like a gentle giant, falling 20 meters down into a calm pool. And guess what? It even sings along with the birds around. Though you can’t take a dip in the waterfall anymore, the whole area is still super pretty. If you’re planning a trip to Nainital, make sure to include a visit to Corbett Falls.
When you’re here, you can do fun things like walking in the forests, watching birds and taking a stroll in nature. But remember, there aren’t any shops nearby. So, if you’re coming, bring some snacks and water with you.

Optimal Time to Visit Corbett Falls:
The best time to plan a visit to Corbett Falls is when you are already planning a trip to the Jim Corbett National Park, especially if you are traveling from a considerable distance. Keep in mind that Corbett Falls is a relatively small location, and the recommended duration for a visit is one to two hours.
It’s advisable to avoid planning a visit during the monsoon season (June-August), as the park remains closed for a significant portion of this period. Therefore, it’s not ideal to visit the falls when the park is inaccessible.
Alternatively, the summer season offers a favorable climate for a visit. The heat is not overwhelming, and the weather remains moderate. Summer temperatures are not as high as those experienced in the capital city of India.

How to reach Corbett falls

Corbett Falls is located at an equal distance from both Ramnagar and Haldwani. You can choose your route based on your preference. If you go through Haldwani from Delhi, you’ll find the nearest bus stand and railway station in Haldwani. On the other hand, if you take the Ramnagar route, the nearest bus stand and railway station will be in Ramnagar, and Pantnagar will be the closest airport. The Corbett Falls is around 28 kilometers away from both Ramnagar and Haldwani.
A Peaceful Escape to Corbett Waterfalls:
On our recent trip to Jim Corbett, we made a spontaneous decision to visit the Corbett Waterfalls, and it turned out to be a serene and refreshing experience that I’d recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Located about 30 km from Ramnagar bus stand and quite close to the Corbett Museum, this little gem is tucked away inside a quiet forest patch. As you approach the main gate, you’ll come across a ticket counter the entry fee is ₹50 per adult, and parking charges are ₹100 for cars and just ₹5 for two-wheelers.
What’s interesting is that you’re allowed to drive your vehicle around 2 km inside the forest beyond the ticket counter, which feels like a mini jungle safari. The road is narrow and surrounded by greenery, and if you’re lucky, you might spot some wildlife. (We didn’t, but the signs are everywhere!)
Once you reach the parking area, there’s a 300-meter walk to the waterfall, which involves climbing a series of stone-carved steps. These stairs are short but can be slippery, especially in monsoon, as they are often covered in moss or algae. So, if you have elders or small kids, take it slow and wear good grip footwear.
The waterfall itself is not huge, but it’s set in a beautifully dense forest and feels like a peaceful retreat away from the usual hustle. The sound of the water along with chirping birds and cool breeze gives you that much-needed nature therapy.
There are a few adventure activities like ziplining, rope climbing, and sky cycling scattered along the path. Unfortunately, during our visit, they were closed due to rain though honestly, it wasn’t raining at all. It seemed a bit arbitrary, possibly depending on the mood of the staff. Still, these would’ve added a fun twist to the trip, especially for younger visitors.
Near the parking area, there’s one small canteen for light snacks and tea, along with a souvenir shop selling basic trinkets and local crafts. Don’t expect a full meal here – it’s best for a quick bite. There’s also a washroom about 200 meters away, but no changing rooms, so be prepared if you’re planning to step into the water.
The entire place is clean and well-maintained, which was pleasantly surprising. It’s a great half-day outing, perfect for a peaceful picnic, a nature walk, or just sitting by the stream and soaking in the forest vibes.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re in or around Jim Corbett National Park, Corbett Waterfall is a quiet, scenic spot worth visiting. Just come prepared – wear good shoes, carry your own towel and water, and don’t expect commercial-level amenities. What you will get, though, is a genuine connection with nature.
