Bijrani Safari Zone in Jim Corbett National Park is a well-known tourist spot near Ramnagar, surrounded by resorts in the Dhikuli village. It’s famous for its abundant tiger population, providing an exciting wildlife experience. The Amdanda Gate is the entrance point, covering buffer, tourism, and core areas.
Safari adventures are open in the morning and evening but are limited to areas outside the core zones to avoid disturbing the wildlife. Access is controlled on specific paths to manage the number of vehicles.
For a more immersive wildlife encounter, visitors can opt for a full-day Jeep safari to see a diverse range of wildlife in Corbett Park. The Bijrani and Malani Forest Rest Houses offer comfortable accommodation within the Bijrani zone.
Although the Jeep safari timings in Corbett can vary based on specific factors, CTR officials have decided below-mentioned time within the most of the zones.

Formalities to visit Bijrani Zone
To go on a safari in the Bijrani zone of Corbett Tiger Reserve, you need to get a special entry permit. You must show this permit to the forest officials at the entry gate. You can book this permit online up to 45 days before your safari or get it on the same day of the safari at the forest office in Ramnagar by paying the required fee. Booking is on a first-come, first-served basis and depends on availability.
Along with the entry permit, you must also hire a safari jeep and have a guide/naturalist with you, and both are necessary to enter the tiger reserve area. Each safari jeep can have a maximum of six adults and two children (below 12 years), along with the driver and guide. Because there is a high demand for safari slots, and only 30 safari jeeps are allowed in the Bijrani zone during one shift, it’s best to book your permit well in advance before you get to Corbett Tiger Reserve.
For a place to stay, if you’re visiting Bijrani zone for a day safari, you can choose from different hotels and resorts in Dhikuli village, right outside the Bijrani zone. There are options for various budgets, from cheaper hotels to fancy and luxurious resorts.

The safari prices may vary depending on the type of safari selected, with Jeep Safari being the predominant option in this zone. It usually costs between ₹6500 and ₹8000 per jeep. In peak seasons, the cost of Jeep Safari can be even higher.

The Bijrani rest house boasts six rooms, featuring four with double beds, two with single beds, and a dormitory accommodating four beds. The compound is equipped with its own restaurant and canteen, providing the convenience of elephant Safari into the jungle.
This region serves as the habitat for a diverse array of wild animals and birds, undisturbed by human activities, presenting a high likelihood of encountering a tiger, sloth bear, and herds of elephants within this section of the park.
The Malani rest house has two rooms with double beds and is popular among bird watchers and tourists looking for a peaceful environment. The beauty of Bijrani includes expansive grasslands, dense forests, significant water drains, and a diverse range of flora and fauna.

My Memorable Safari Experience at Bijrani Ecotourism Zone, Jim Corbett (June 2023)
In June 2023, I had the opportunity to explore the Bijrani Ecotourism Zone in the famous Jim Corbett National Park, and it turned out to be an unforgettable wildlife adventure. Traveling with my family and a few close friends, we were excited to witness the raw beauty of the jungle—and Bijrani delivered beyond expectations.
We opted for an open-hooded Gypsy safari, which added a thrilling dimension to the experience. The fresh air, overwhelming silence of the woods, and dense green vegetation made it a peaceful yet exciting journey. There was an abundance of birds, busy with their daily chorus, and scattered wildlife grazing quietly. It felt like stepping into a different world—full of life, yet so tranquil.
Our guide, Mr. Hargobind, was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the forest. Along with our skilled driver, he took us deep into the jungle trails, increasing our chances of animal sightings. And it paid off—we were fortunate to spot the majestic tiger not once, but twice in the Bijrani Zone. It’s a surreal feeling seeing a tiger in its natural habitat—calm, powerful, and absolutely captivating.
The excitement didn’t end there. We also witnessed a herd of elephants with young calves in the Bijrani Zone. Later, in the Jhirna Zone, we spotted another herd being led by a massive single-tusked tusker, which was another highlight of our trip.
If you’re planning a safari, I highly recommend booking the Bijrani morning slot, as animal activity is generally higher during early hours. Do note that the guide fee is not included in the booking—you’ll need to pay an additional ₹1000–₹1200 at the park entrance.
Overall, the Bijrani Safari experience was rich, immersive, and perfectly balanced between adventure and calm. It’s a must-visit zone in Corbett, especially if you’re serious about spotting big cats and enjoying the serenity of the jungle.
